TerraGraphics Remains Open to Serve our Clients

As we continue to navigate the challenges of the last few months, we hope that our employees, friends, and clients are doing well physically and emotionally.  We understand that it hasn’t been an easy feat adjusting to working remotely and recognize that these challenging times may continue. We would like to give a special thanks to our clients who have paved the way to allow many of us to work remotely.  For those that have returned to work, we appreciate our clients implementing safety protocols to keep our employees safe.  This has no doubt been a blessing to us all by providing meaningful work to the Hanford Site.

As we wait for a full remobilization, we encourage you all to watch out for your loved ones, community members, and remain vigilant.

Employee David Boothroyd’s cat “helps” him while he works from his home office.

During this time of uncertainty, the TerraGraphics Leadership Team is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our employees and customers.  As such, our office has been temporarily closed to allow only essential activities.  We have implemented a telework policy that allows us to support our clients during this period.  We encourage our employees to follow the federal, state, and county public health agency guidelines to keep themselves, their colleagues, and their families healthy.  We will continue to monitor updates from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and monitor the Washington State Department of Health and Benton-Franklin Health District webpages for status changes.

Zulma Ceja started her career at TerraGraphics as an intern. Now 2.5 years later she works full time in the HR department and is working on her AA degree at Columbia Basin Community College.
She chose HR because she wanted to help out TG and be more involved with the company. “I saw the opportunity to try something new and out of my comfort zone and took it. I love the equality and helping people, the HR department serves me with that and more” says Zulma.
When asked how TerraGraphics helped shape her future, Zulma has this to say: “I am grateful for the opportunity TerraGraphics has given me. Being an HR assistant has taught me a lot and helped me look out for my future a lot more. TerraGraphics has opened my eyes to many things in life and has pushed me and motivated me to strive for greatness in the future. I hope to continue growing, learning and helping alongside TerraGraphics.

TerraGraphics Employees Spotlight
– Dan Mineer of Calling All Aliens

You may know Dan Minteer as a Mechanical Engineer at TerraGraphics. You may not know that he has recorded and produced an album Calling All Aliens and plays gigs on the weekends. He’s played at Adam West Day in Walla Walla for the past three years. Two of his songs, Adam West Blues, and 60’s Star, are the official theme songs of Adam West Day. The September event celebrates Adam West, the Walla Walla, WA born actor who played Bruce Wayne for three seasons in the iconic 1960s tv series Batman.
Dan was drawn to music as a kid and he grew up watching the show. It made a big enough impression that he wrote the song Batman at age 18. He describes his music as rock and blues with lots of guitar jams. He found influence in guitarists with a unique sound like Joe Walsh of the Eagles and Jimi Hendrix.
Dan self-produced his album with the help of his friends, wife and daughter. He built the album song by song, writing some new songs and using some from his archives. Dan tells people that the album Calling All Aliens contains his best lyrics and guitar work. There is also a video version of the album, with narration by a guy from the UK, revealing the alien tale of woe and tying all the quirky songs together. All in all, the album and videos took a year to finish. His daughter created the cover art and he produced the music himself, recording on a laptop. You can purchase digital downloads or stream from your favorite service. You can view the videos on YouTube, and find him on the web at minteer.live.

In August 2019, TerraGraphics supported the Katy Straalsund Memorial Foundation by participating in their 3rd annual “Let’s Kick Domestic Violence” kickball tournament.  The Katy Straalsund Memorial Foundation (KSMF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and the prevention of relationship violence.  With TerraGraphics support, KSMF raised the funds necessary for the establishment of the Katy Straalsund Endowed Memorial Scholarship at the University of Washington.  This scholarship will be provided to an undergraduate student within the college of speech and hearing sciences, Katy’s own department and among the services she would have needed had Katy survived.

TerraGraphics has participated every year since the tournament’s inception and we look forward to continuing to do so in the future.  It truly is a great time for all while supporting the “love over violence” cause the foundation promotes.
